Over 400 Runners Successfully Launch Innovative Formentera 4x10K Per Equips

The island of Formentera launched a new sporting event this Saturday with the inaugural Formentera 4x10K Per Equips, an innovative competition that brought together over 400 runners in a team-based format and shared experience.

The event aims to diversify the island’s sporting offerings and further establish Formentera as a leading destination for active and sports tourism. The event featured a team format of four members, with each participant completing a 10-kilometer distance. Individual times were then combined to determine the final ranking.

The race started at 6:00 PM from Passeig de la Marina in La Savina, while the finish line was located at the Antoni Blanc Sports Center in Sant Francesc Xavier. The urban and interurban route combined sections of asphalt and well-maintained dirt road on a circuit completely closed to traffic.

The first runner to cross the finish line was Adrián Guirado, while Verónica Castro was the first woman. However, the official time was the sum of the times of the four members of each team. The winning teams in the different categories were as follows: In the Business category, Trasmapi Taller took first place. In the Family category (under 150 years), Team Tirado won, while in the Family category (over 150 years), Capi26 emerged victorious.

In the women’s category, the winners were Menta Running Club (under 100 years), Superhíbridas (101-150 years), Turbo Galline (151-200 years), and Trivoras (over 200 years).

In the men’s category, the winners were Los Marpiones (under 100 years), Pep Toni i Ases (101-150 years), and Innova Team (151-200 years).

Meanwhile, in the mixed category, the winners were Coche Escoba (under 100 years), BCS On Tour 2 (101-150 years), Los Cardio-Optimist (151-200 years), and Las Balas de López (over 200 years).

The awards ceremony brought to a close a day marked by sport and a festive atmosphere, and was attended by the president of the Formentera Island Council, Óscar Portas. The Minister of Sports, Hugo Martínez; the Minister of Tourism, Artal Mayans; the director of CaixaBank in Formentera, Lourdes Costa, and David Prior, representing Trasmapi.
